We're pleased to announce that the Hanover County Economic Development website that we launched earlier this year has been honored by the International Economic Development Council during the IEDC Annual Conference in Houston, Texas.
"We recognize Hanover County (Virginia) Economic Development for creating innovative and successful strategies to promote economic development in this period of global recovery,” said Jay Moon, IEDC chair. “Our awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in communities. Hanover County (Virginia) Economic Development demonstrates that they are at the forefront of the economic development profession and are using cutting-edge, effective practices that can be replicated in other communities."
The website showcases several businesses in Hanover County and helps tell the unique story about how Hanover County is a great place to do business. The website includes integration with the County's GIS system, a "map room" with the option to download and save each map, a searchable site/building real estate directory, a searchable business database of existing businesses and a robust publishing system so Hanover County can keep their website fresh with new content.
We continue to work with Hanover County to build their library of "business success stories," including custom photography and writing.
IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. These awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
